French shares gain 0.21 pct on Tuesday

PARIS, March 5 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Tuesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.21 percent, or 10.95 points, to close at 5,297.52 points.

A total of 17 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.

European software company Dassault Systemes advanced 2.21 percent. French multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi gained 1.87 percent. French personal care company L'Oreal rose 1.34 percent.

French global automotive supplier Valeo edged down 2.78 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. European IT services corporation Atos lost 2.06 percent. UK-based company that provides complete project life cycle services TechnipFMC lost 1.53 percent. Enditem
