Netherlands boosts trade ties with Lebanon: Dutch ambassador
BEIRUT, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Dutch Ambassador to Lebanon Jan Waltmans said Tuesday that his embassy in Lebanon is working hard on bolstering trade ties between the two countries.
"Trade between the two countries last year was remarkable and we are working on succeeding on this front this year as well," Waltmans was quoted as saying by the National News Agency.
Waltmans' remarks came during a ceremony held by the Lebanese-Dutch Business Association in honor of Telecom Minister Mohamad Choucair.
Watlmans praised the new Lebanese government for its keenness on implementing serious economic reforms.
"My country will help and support Lebanon in this area," he said.
Meanwhile, Choucair said that the Netherlands is characterized for having great expertise in fields such as industry, technology, education, training and oil and gas.
"We want to thank the Lebanese-Dutch Business Association for bringing this expertise into Lebanon in a bid to improve our productivity," he said.
