Ukraine to deploy over 130,000 law enforcement personnel for elections
KIEV, march 5 (Xinhua) -- A total of 131,545 law enforcement personnel will be deployed across Ukraine on march 31 to ensure security at the country's presidential elections, the Ukrainian Interior Ministry said on Tuesday.
In particular, the voting process will be supervised by 69,230 officers of the National Police and 7,688 officers from the National Guard, the ministry said on Facebook.
In addition, the personnel from the State Border Guard Service, the State Migration Service and the State Service for Emergencies will patrol some 29,824 polling stations in 199 electoral districts across the country.
During the previous presidential elections on May 25, 2014, the government has deployed around 55,700 police officers and 20,000 volunteers to guard about 34,000 polling stations in Ukraine. Enditem
