Indian markets close higher 

MUMBAI, March 5 (Xinhua) -- Indian markets closed higher Tuesday.

It was a strong close for benchmark indices on first day of the week as market was shut on Monday.

Except IT, all other sectoral indices were trading in green led by Auto, metal and PSU bank with 2 percent gain.

The benchmark SP, BSE Sensex closed at 36,442.54, 378.73 points or 1.05 percent up compared to its previous close at 36,063.81.
